Invest in Yourself First

A few years ago, I took a values quiz and got clear on what actually drives me: health, intelligence, strength, wealth, and gratitude. That became my “why.” Not just words—but a filter for how I spend my time, energy, and money.

Since then, I’ve made a conscious decision to invest in becoming the best version of myself—for me, my kids, my clients, and now Bellbar almost 2 years in.

This is why I continue my education and training with StrongFirst. If you hear me talk about it often, it’s because it's a huge part of who I am. I am a student of Strongfirst. Therefore, I am a student of strength. StrongFirst is a strength education company focused on kettlebell, barbell, and bodyweight training. Strongfirst emphasizes technique, skill, and sustainable strength—not burnout.

This weekend, Kevin and Brian are attending the StrongFirst Kettlebell Level 1 certification. That’s a real investment—time, money, and effort—to become better coaches for you and raise the standard inside our gym.

I'm extremely thankful to have coaches who "get it" and what I'm trying to do at Bellbar. Kevin, Brian, Cindy, Phil and Byron are all dedicated to help people become the strongest version of themselves.

I’m also grateful to have clients and members who invest in themselves as well. All of you show up, you put in the work, and you trust the process. That matters.

That’s not something I take lightly.

Because when someone invests in you, you owe them your best.

That’s why I lean so heavily on StrongFirst principles—to help people become the strongest version of themselves. Not just physically, but mentally. Because strength done right builds both.

But here’s the part that matters most for you:

You don’t need my values.
You need yours.

Take the time to figure out what actually matters to you. Not what sounds good. Not what social media tells you. What you believe in.

Find your “why.”

And once you do, protect it.

Invest in it.

Chase it.

Because every dollar you spend, every hour you give, every decision you make—it’s either moving you closer to that version of yourself…or further away.

Stop wasting time on anything that veers off that path.

The best investment you will ever make is YOU.
